I returned to Scotland in August this year to take part in a couple of Common Ridings. This is a tradition which takes place all around the Border towns and involves riding a circuit of the town borders following a Town flag and specially nominated rider who carries this flag. The one I did was at Lauder and the flag bearer there, who is known as the Cornet was Cameron McNeill. The flag bearer is a very special priviledge and involves great ceremony. It was an amazing experience to ride through the town with fife and drum bands and about 400 horses. I was very well mounted on two of my nieces wonderful horses. Wincy and Paddy
